When the third season of ‘Emily in Paris’ hits on Netflix on Wednesday, viewers will find a few surprises in their stockings.
When they first received the scripts for the new series, the cast was astounded by the quantity of cliffhangers.
“I’m thinking, how are we going to film everything – like, what?” asks Lily Collins, who plays the titular American marketing executive who makes her social media presence known in France.
“But it was an exciting ride. Shooting was a tremendous rollercoaster. “It was also a lot of fun,” she says.
Season three gives the trendy female protagonist character more professional options, designer quandaries, and romantic surprises.
Although Lucas Bravo, who plays Emily’s full-time neighbour and occasional love interest, chef Gabriel, believes she isn’t the only one dealing with issues on the show.
“Before, it was solely Emily’s craziness,” Bravo explains.
“Everyone now has their own tale, complete with their own disarray. And it’s a tangle of confusion and drama.”
Season one premiered in October 2020, followed by season two in December. Three years into their duties, the cast members are eager to point out where their roles begin and end.
Collins, who is also an executive producer, claims that she has always blended in better in France than Emily since she understands the language and culture.
“It’s a little tricky to act as though you don’t know what to say,” Collins admits. “It’s like… to mispronounce it over and over again. I only want to respond completely in French. As a result, it is difficult.”
Kate Walsh, who plays Emily’s American employer Madeline, wants everyone to know that she has quite different fashion sense from her boisterous and vividly colourful role.
