“Totally Killer,” a movie that mixes Halloween and time travel. It’s directed by Nahnatchka Khan and written by David Matalon, Sasha Perl-Raver, and Jen D’Angelo. I can’t wait to see how they blend these two unexpected elements together.
This movie is like a mixtape of the best movie vibes. It’s got the time-travel thrills of “Back to the Future,” the creepy slasher feels of Halloween, and that cool self-awareness we love in “Scream.” And hey, if you’re into movies like “The Final Girls” or the “Happy Death Day” series, you’re gonna dig this one too! The script adds a fresh twist to the familiar ingredients, injecting heart and humor to keep things from feeling stale. While it may not go down in history as a classic, it’s definitely a fun choice for a spooky night in. The dynamic between Jamie and Pam in “Totally Killer” is super interesting. Shipka does an amazing job portraying a versatile and charming character. Their friendship evolves throughout the film, adding depth and making it enjoyable, even if some jokes and kills don’t quite hit the mark. But you know what? The mix of elements in the movie creates this surprisingly wholesome feeling that might even inspire viewers to appreciate their relationships with loved ones. It’s a film that balances heartwarming moments with thrilling ones.
Storyline:-
“Totally Killer” is a captivating tale that blends time travel, generational clashes, and humor. The story centers around Jamie (Kiernan Shipka), a typical rebellious teenager with overprotective parents (Julie Bowen and Lochlyn Munro) who have a haunting past. In their high school days, three of their friends were brutally murdered within a week. The nightmare resurfaces when the still-unidentified Sweet Sixteen Killer returns on Halloween 2022, targeting Jamie.
To escape this impending danger, Jamie finds refuge in a time machine that catapults her back to 1987, complete with endearingly outdated graphics. This unplanned journey sets the stage for a clash between the sensibilities of Gen Z and Gen X. Jamie is bewildered by the racism embedded in the school mascot and cringes at the misogyny prevalent in her parents’ generation. She also amusingly discovers that ‘80s weed has nothing on its modern counterpart.
“Totally Killer” offers an entertaining blend of nostalgia, humor, and cultural commentary .
It is an intense movie where Pam, who escaped the Sweet Sixteen Killer in 1987, tries to warn her daughter Jamie about the danger of Halloween. But Jamie doesn’t listen, and the Killer returns, taking Pam’s life and chasing Jamie. Then, something crazy happens! Jamie is transported back to 1987 while battling the Killer. The police don’t believe her, so Jamie is determined to save her mom and friends who are heading to a deserted cabin. She’s racing against time to stop the Killer. Whew, that sounds like a heart-pounding story! I can’t wait to see how Jamie fights back and if she can change the past.
Cast:-
The cast of “Totally Killer ”Kiernan Shipka will be playing Jamie, while Julie Bowen takes on the role of Pam. Olivia Holt will portray the teenage version of Pam. And there are some talented supporting actors too, like Randall Park, Lochlyn Munro, Charlie Gillespie, Liana Liberato, Kelcey Mawema, Stephi Chin-Salvo, Anna Diaz, Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson, Ella Choi, Nathaniel Appiah, and Jonathan Potts. It’s going to be amazing to see these actors bring the characters to life.
