The Greatest of All Time, better known as GOAT, was released in theatres on Thursday, September 5. In Tamil Nadu, the first show of the film was held at 9 am on the first day.
The Greatest of All Time, sometimes known as GOAT, is a science fiction action thriller movie released in 2024 in Tamil in India. It was produced by AGS Entertainment and directed and written by Venkat Prabhu, Ezhilarasu Gunasekaran, and K Chandru.
The first part of GOAT is incredibly captivating, as the director sets the scene for an amazing intermission block that will surprise you. Before the movie cuts to the intermission, there is a ton of family drama and intense action in several missions across the globe.
However, the second half is predictive, it becomes more formulaic, making the movie lack the intensity created in the first part.

Industry tracker Sacnilk announced that the Vijay-starring film brought in Rs 44 crore on its opening day in India. In addition to the Telugu and Hindi versions, which brought in Rs 3 crore and Rs 1.85 crore, respectively, the Tamil version alone brought in Rs 39.15 crore.

SURPRISE DEBUT IN THE FILM
In a fleeting cameo in “GOAT,” Dhoni is shown leaving the MA Chidambaram Stadium locker room to bat for his cherished IPL team, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and later, even knocks a boundary, as Vijay is busy carrying off a trick at the cricket ground.
MS Dhoni and Thalapathy Vijay have enormous fan bases, and each star is affectionately referred to as “Thala” by his or her supporters.
A SNEAK PEAK INTO STORY OF GOAT
Mr Gandhi (Vijay), a talented Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS) agent, is a quintessential “Family Man” who keeps his job a secret from his spouse (Sneha). He fakes a grocery list whenever he is there to list his villains. The couple is expecting their second child. They already have a five-year-old kid, Evan.
Gandhi’s SATS squad consists of Ajay (Ajmal Ameer), Kalyan Sundaram (Prabhudeva), Sunil Thiagarajan (Prashanth), and Nazeer (Jayaram), their manager. They live undercover under a company named Tourism Development Corporation.
GOAT began in Kenya in 2008, when we witnessed a team from the Special Anti-Terror Squad (SATS) retrieve stolen uranium from a group of terrorists under the command of Omar and Rajiv Menon (Mohan).
They believe everyone on board, including Menon, is dead, so thereafter they take the stolen uranium from Menon and demolish the train he was riding on.
Further Gandhi (Vijay) and his friends/teammates Kalyan (Prabhu Deva), Sunil (Prashanth), and Sham (Ajay) return to India, however a mishap happens in the mission and they face criticism from their boss Nazeer (Jayaram) for it.
Consequently, Gandhi is assigned the project in Bangkok, so he takes his family along. Anu goes into labor after Gandhi and his family are attacked, and Jeevan vanishes for no apparent reason.
Gandhi is shocked to learn that the police have discovered a burnt body they suspect to be Jeevan’s. Grieving, Anu quits talking to Gandhi after giving birth to a daughter.
Thereafter 17 years later, Gandhi worked as an immigration officer, stamping passports and caring for his daughter who resides with his wife. They are no longer together as a pair.
Further, Gandhi unintentionally sees his young son Jeevan while on a work trip in Russia. The family reunites thereafter. Jeevan finally ends the life of Nazeer. He joins hands with Menon in his revenge who escaped the trainbombing.
Gandhi killed his son when he bombed MA Chidambaram stadium.
However, it turns out, that the Jeevan that Gandhi killed was a clone, and the real Jeevan—who is now a cloning scientist—is still alive and is working on producing more clones to carry out his intentions.
