Long-haul British Airways passengers will have access to a wealth of new in-flight entertainment options. The reason for this is because the airline has partnered with Paramount+ to provide a variety of exclusive material on its lengthier flights. The national carrier of the United Kingdom will air TV shows from the streaming service, including a number of popular shows from the small screen including Halo, Queen of the Universe, Spongebob’s Under Years, Yellowstone, and The Offer, to mention a few. The availability of multiple Star Trek franchise programmes onboard will be a significant plus for Trekkies.
The airline commemorated the announcement with a Star Trek takeover at Heathrow Terminal 5, where employees donned Star Trek outfits and had their hair and makeup done like in the movies.
Unaware customers and coworkers were caught off guard as the Starfleet cadre made its way through the airport to board U.S.S. Enterprise flight 1701 to Starbase.
“We wanted to start off this announcement with Paramount+ in true blockbuster-style by bringing some of their unique content to life, right to our home at Heathrow Terminal 5,” British Airways’ chief customer officer, Calum Laming, said.
It was wonderful to see so many Star Trek aficionados from the business join together to help us celebrate this launch. Many employees were eager to exchange their wings for the Starfleet Insignia for a moment.
“This agreement provides a terrific platform for our continuing expansion in the UK, allowing us to expose millions of customers a year to some of the best series anywhere, accessible on Paramount,” said Anna Priest, chief marketing officer, UK, at Paramount.
We’re sure that British Airways passengers will be enthused by what they see and inspired to keep exploring the wealth of entertainment options available.
