Rahul Gandhi takes on BSP’s Thakur Prasad Yadav and BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh in the Raebareli Lok Sabha Constituency. Following the release on Friday of the party’s list of candidates from the constituencies, the Congress has selected him from Raebareli and Kishori Lal Sharma from Amethi.

The Congress has used the Raebareli Lok Sabha as a stronghold, winning 17 of the 20 Lok Sabha elections held on this seat. including three by-elections. Smt. Indira Gandhi, was one of the nation’s most powerful prime ministers. maintained this position as her stronghold for almost ten years.
Sonia Gandhi, the previous head of the Congress, has been the most successful leader from this seat. winning each of the last five Lok Sabha elections. including the 2006 by-elections.
Raebareli, however, will have new faces as its Lok Sabha candidates when it opens its EVMs and ballot boxes for the 18th Lok Sabha elections. in phase five on Monday, May 20, 2024. This is because sitting MP Sonia Gandhi has chosen not to run for the Lok Sabha this time around after being elected to the Rajya Sabha. Rahul Gandhi has been nominated by the Congress to represent Raebareli Lok Sabha in place of Sonia.with the expectation that the Gandhi family’s hold on this seat will help them.
