“They were ever present in the culture. You can almost compare them to Abba or the Beatles, there’s always something happening to remind and draw in new listeners.”
“They’ve never monetized that nostalgia on this scale. They’ll probably make more money from these gigs than they did in the entire 90s.”
KNOW ABOUT THE BAND:-
Oasis is an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991 of the Brit-pop genre. The group consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals), Paul Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (bass guitar) Tony McCarroll (drums), and older brother Noel Gallagher (lead guitar, songwriter, vocals) to join as a fifth member.
Arthurs and McGuigan left in 1999 and were replaced by Heavy Stereo guitarist Gem Archer on guitar and Andy Bellon on bass. In 2004, guest drummer Zak Starkey, and later Chris Sharrock were hired.
However, it’s uncertain who will be joining them for the tour after the Oasis reunion.
Some of the biggest hit albums from them include-
Definitely Maybe (1994), (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (1995), Be Here Now (1997), Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000), Heathen Chemistry (2002), Don’t Believe the Truth (2005), Dig Out Your Soul (2008)
DIGGING INTO REASONS FOR THE RIFT BEFORE THE OASIS REUNION
Before Oasis reunion it has seen years of internal strife. Oasis broke up in 2009, with Noel Gallagher officially departing the group just before they played at a festival close to Paris.
The brothers had an acrimonious relationship for a long time before their breakup, and it is said that they stopped speaking to one other for years following.
When they had to postpone a 2009 show, Noel Gallagher blamed his younger brother Liam Gallagher for being intoxicated. In response to the charge, the frontman filed a lawsuit, which he eventually dropped.
Noel said in an interview in 2011-
Liam Gallagher started wielding a guitar like an axe and he’s swinging this guitar around and he kind of you know, he took my face off with it, you know?”
In 2019 Liam said
“The most important thing is about me and him being brothers. I am not desperate to get the band back together for money, I joined the band to have fun and to see the world.”
“I don’t know what his problem is,” he continued. “I think he just wanted to go away and do his solo career, get all the coin, and be surrounded by all the yes men you can fire and hire whenever he wants. You can’t do that with me.”
