Match Summary :- Liverpool
Liverpool came up against Brentford, a side who showed prevail once more after a close opportunity when Mads’s cross to three struggling forwards inside the box missed badly. Szoboszlai, Dominik and Cody Gakpo both missed key opportunities as Liverpool had a rough start.
Liverpool dominated the final thirty minutes after completing the first half. When Brentford’s goalkeeper Mark Flekken clipped Luis Diaz inside the area, there was controversy but neither the referee nor VAR detected foul play and turned down a penalty. It appeared as if the game would end without any goals until the last few moments when Darwin Nunez scored a beautiful finesse shot with Trent Alexander’s brilliant cutback. Right after that, Nunez scored with Harvey Elliott’s help in a well-executed counter-attack.
