Cirkus‘ Twitter review: Movie reviewers and fans stated it seemed more like a Sajid Khan film and dubbed it Shetty’s worst-ever film.
Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty, was widely panned by reviewers and moviegoers on Twitter shortly after its release today. Taran Adarsh, a film critic and trade analyst, likewise rated Cirkus two stars and declared the film out of date.
According to Adarsh, the film “lacks the excitement and comedy you’d expect from a Rohit Shetty picture… The second half has some humorous moments, but the spark is lacking.”
Moviegoers stated it seemed more like a Sajid Khan picture and dubbed it Shetty’s worst film. They also criticised the film for having few comedic parts and Ranveer Singh for overacting in every shot.
“As a Rohit Shetty film, I honestly thought Cirkus would be so much fun, but it seemed more like a Sajid Khan film than a Rohit Shetty one,” one person commented. I loved the subject behind it, but the film did not do it credit, and Ranveer and Varun are fantastic as always.”
A moviegoer inquired why Cirkus was not boycotted like so many other films this year. “Why was Cirkus not boycotted?” a person tweeted. Because the trailer has already done so. The feedback is unsurprising.
The three-and-a-half-minute trailer was excruciating. “What have you done, Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh?”
Furthermore, Ronak Kamat, a cinephile, chastised the producers, saying they couldn’t blame the public for not flocking to the theatres when they only had the courage to make commercial drivel. “Cirkus reviews claim the picture is rubbish… of course,” Kamat added.
This is unavoidable when producers are only interested in delivering vast canvas drivel rather than excellent tales. Do you really want to blame the lack of attendance at theatres?”
