Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e: Prices, Test Drive, Specifications, Delivery & Booking Dates.
Mahindra & Mahindra started the ground-breaking development of India’s electric landscape by launching these electric SUVs-the BE 6 and the XEV 9e. These models use the attached platform of Mahindra’s own INGLO brand-new concept platform for electric vehicles.
Pricing and Variants :- Mahindra BE 6
BE 6 managed to get a price tag of ₹18.90 lakh-26.90 lakh; under this price, XEV 9e sells for ₹21.90 lakh-30.50 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). However, both SUVs have three versions-Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three. As mentioned, the price is exclusive of home charger costs, which are available for separate purchase.
Test Drives and Booking Schedule:- Mahindra BE 6
Phase-wise test drives will kick-start:
Phase 1: Starting on January 14, 2025, stretching across Delhi NCR, Mumbai MMR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, and Chennai.
Phase 2: From January 24, 2025, extending to Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Cochin, Coimbatore, Goa, Howrah, Indore, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Surat, Vadodara, and Chandigarh.
Phase 3: Beginning February 7, 2025, extending pan-India.
Clients will be able to order ‘Pack Three,’ the elite models that carry the powerful 79 kWh battery pack, beginning February 7, 2025. The booking for other variants is expected to commence by the end of March 2025.
Delivery Timeline
Deliveries are slated to begin in early March 2025, starting with the top-spec variants. Deliveries for other variants will follow in the subsequent months.
Power and Range
Both models come with two battery packs, 59 kWh and 79 kWh, powered by state-of-the-art LFP chemistry. Certified except for the BE 6, which has a range of 682 km, and the XEV 9e, which will deliver a maximum distance of around 656 km (MIDC cycle). They’re equipped with a single-motor configuration for RWD, generating as much as 286 PS power, and 380 Nm torque allowing a 0-100 km/h jump in a mere 6.7 seconds. Furthermore, the fast charging capability enables a 20% to 80% recharge in less than 20 minutes through a 175 kW fast charger.
Comforts and Security Features
These SUVs all come with luxury features such as a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone AC, wireless phone charging, ventilated front powered seats, and a fully blown 1400-watt 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. The XEV 9e provides three 12.3-inch screens for the driver, touchscreen, and the passenger, while the BE 6 has a unique dual screen setup. Safety is a priority, with seven airbags, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, electronic parking brake, TPMS, 360 degrees camera, and Level-2 ADAS features that include autonomous emergency braking and forward collision warning.
Market and Rivals Positioning
The BE 6 will house a good deal of competition originating from Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the other upcoming such models which include the Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti e-Vitara. As for XEV 9e, it has no direct competitor at the moment but when it is launched, it will lock horns against the likes of BYD Atto 3 and later on Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV.
