Dhanorkar was the lone Congress MP from Chandrapur Lok Sabha community in Maharashtra. The statement said he was part of the Shiv Sena earlier Congress parliamentarian who had experienced treatment for kidney stones at a hospital in Nagpur on May 27.

A party spokesperson said news agency PTI that Dhanorkar was lifted to Delhi from Nagpur on May 28 for medical treatment. He was lifted to the national capital in an air ambulance after he protested of stomach pain, an announcement from the MP said.
