2014 General Elections results reflected significant changes in the political map of India as Narendra Modi and BJP romped to a historic win in the general elections 2014. They had hope for change and growth and a lot of people were really happy with him. They have come around with a promise of inclusive growth, social development and economic reforms. The major rival of its was The Indian National Congress who had ruled two terms consecutively under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh. Nevertheless, they came under fire for corruption, economic stagnation that provoked popular dissatisfaction.
The huge victory of Narendra Modi signified the arrival of a new age in Indian Politics. His government embarked on a bold policy to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of millions of Indians seeking a better life; this included social welfare programs and infrastructure development as well as economic liberalisation. The 2014 polls had established the robustness of Indian democracy, and that the voters showed up to have their say.
Economic Reforms and Development initiatives
What has probably been the bedrock of Narendra Modi as a Prime Minister is his focus on economic reforms and development projects that either could help fast track the growth trajectory of India. Initiatives such as Make in India, Digital India, and Skill India have acted as accelerators in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation leading to massive job

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:- Narendra Modi
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was initiated as a cleanliness and hygiene awareness campaign and program across the world. It focuses on cleanliness of public washrooms, lakes, oceans, rivers such as Ganga and the roads where people dumb huge amount of
waste. In order to bring financial inclusion to the unbanked population, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi launched Jan Dhan Yojana or People’s Wealth Scheme.
It is under this policy that each family gets an opportunity to have a bank account which should be opened with zero balance if need be. This program has enabled millions who had no access before now to get banking services along with various government subsidies.
The Indian government introduced the Goods and Services Tax (GST) mainly with the aim of simplifying taxation procedures so as to create one unified market throughout India. The consumer greatly benefitted from this single tax system which replaced multiples thereby affecting their purchasing power negatively.
Foreign Policy
Modi has focused on making India strong in the world by adopting the Act East Policy and International Solar Alliance. Also he is working to make strong tie with strategic partner countries like the United State, Japan and Israel. The government has launched different social welfare programs like PM-Kisan Yojana to help farmers with LPG connections and providing health insurances through Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme and Ujjwala Yojana for providing LPG connections for households below the poverty line
Modi on Ram Mandir
Ram Mandir, also known as Ram Janmabhoomi temple has been a reason of conflict between hindus and muslims as they both claim the land theirs.since the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992, initiated a huge act of violence between the two religious groups.it led to years of battles and fight for the ownership of the land.
He supported the construction of Ram Mandir since he was the CM of Gujarat, and after becoming PM, he eagerly waited for the verdict of supreme court in 2019.
They approved the making of Hindu temple in November 2019 and the construction commenced soon in August 2020. His involvement with the ram Mandir shows his support towards Hindus and Hinduism. Even though he got a lot of backlash from muslim majority as they got hurt religiously. His approach has been characterised by the focus on social harmony,following the rules and respecting different religious groups.
Overall, Modi has done an impeccable job as the Prime Minister of India. He got India recognised on a Global level and even got support from some of the leading countries. He continues to help the poor, making India a better place for them to live.
