Jeremy Renner remains in critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery, a representative for the actor told The Associated Press. The actor remains in an intensive care unit.
The Marvel star, who plays ace archer Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the superhero Avengers movies and Disney+ series “Hawkeye,”Renner sustained serious chest damage and orthopaedic injuries in a snow plough accident in Reno, Nevada, on Sunday, according to Renner’s spokesperson.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their thanks to the great physicians and nurses who have been caring for him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve, and others,” according to the statement. “They are also overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of love and support from his followers.”
A statement shared Sunday with multiple outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Deadline, indicated that his family is with him while he receives care.
According to a news statement from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Renner was hurt in Reno and was rushed to a hospital. According to the statement, he was the only individual involved, and the sheriff’s office is investigating.
According to Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, Renner was getting out of a snow plough he owns at his property on the edge of a snow mountain on New Year’s Day to rescue a stranded automobile when he was run over by his own vehicle.
