MTV video music award show was held on September 12, 2023 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. For the second consecutive year, Nicki Minaj hosted the show. Taylor Swift was the most nominated artist in the award show as she was nominated for 11 categories. She created history by winning video of the year for the four time. Now She is the second most awarded artist in the show’s history as she has a total 23 awards, Beyonce still is on the top with 25 awards. - Best direction: Taylor Swift also won best direction category award for Anti-Hero. It’s her third win in this category. Previously she won for “The Man”(2019) and “All to well”(2022). Taylor Swift has become the third director to win this category for three times following David Fincher and Spike Jonze.
- Song of the year: Taylor won song of the year award for “Anti-Hero”.
- Best pop: Taylor Swift has won best pop category award for “Anti-Hero” for the second time. Previously she won this category award 8 years ago for “Blank Space”.
- Artist of the year: Taylor Swift won artist of the year category award for “Midnights”
- Album of the year: Taylor Swift won album of the year award for “Midnights”.
- Show of the summer: Taylor Swift won show of the summer category award for “Anti-Hero”.
