Ukraine’s national soccer team has acquired a sponsorship arrangement with an industry participant looking to engage fans and promote cryptocurrency use. As part of the arrangement, the team’s crypto partner will be an EU-based coin trading platform for the next three years.
Whitebit, a European cryptocurrency exchange with Ukrainian roots, has signed a long-term collaboration agreement with Ukraine’s national soccer team.
“We are on the same field with football fans, so we are simply delighted, because we have just entered into a partnership with the National Football Team of Ukraine. With this, we will support Ukrainian sports and expand the Ukrainian crypto community,” the trading platform said in a blog post.
Whitebit is the team’s official cryptocurrency partner until 2026. During that time, the exchange will host a variety of entertaining and educational activities for individuals interested in learning more about blockchain, as well as tournaments for supporters at Kyiv’s House of Football.
The objective is to include soccer fans in collaborative projects to promote the broad usage of cryptocurrencies in Ukraine’s sports sector and throughout the country. In recent years, the Eastern European country has positioned itself as a regional leader in terms of cryptocurrency usage.
Since the start of Russia’s invasion, Ukraine has been relying on donations in a number of coins to fund humanitarian and defense efforts. The crypto industry has provided support and Whitebit, along with the world’s largest crypto exchange, Binance, was one of the companies that offered help.
