Cirkus, which opened in theatres on December 23, is performing poorly at the box office. The collection has been shrinking since its first introduction. The film is expected to have generated roughly Rs 2-3 crore on its fifth day at the box office, which is alarmingly low for a film starring Ranveer Singh.

Rohit Shetty produced and directed the period comedy Cirkus. Ranveer Singh plays two characters in the film. Supporting actors include Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Johnny Lever, Mukesh Tiwari, Siddhartha Jadhav, Sanjay Mishra, Murli Sharma, Sulbha Arya, and Vrajesh Hirjee. Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn both appear in cameo roles in the film.
Cirkus is based on Angoor, a remake of the 1968 Hindi film Do Dooni Chaar. The latter was a remake of the Bengali film Bhranti Bilas from 1963.
