The publisher of Persona and Shin Megami Tensai, Atlus, has stated that it has a list of unannounced titles scheduled for release in 2023.
The excitement surrounding Persona’s anniversary in 2022 hasn’t always lived up to it. While it did eventually result in the news that Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are coming to consoles, the sixth instalment of the franchise was nowhere to be seen.
It’s fantastic that they are taking their time with the sequel, but it seemed strange that there wasn’t even a sign or a little teaser to mark the occasion. When Persona 5 was launched back in 2016, many people wanted to avoid the lengthy delay that existed between the release of that game and Persona 4 in 2008. Nonetheless, it appears that the wait will be considerably longer. However, a recent remark by Atlus may have provided some encouragement for the year 2023.
What ATLUS Shinijiro Takada Said To His Fans?
Project Re Fantasy, a genuine Fantasy RPG meant to be a change from the contemporary dramas explored in other well-liked ATLUS titles, is one of the studio’s most eagerly awaited releases. Producer Katsura Hashino indicated that the game’s development was finally reaching its conclusion in a statement from December 2021.
Hashino has previously spoken extensively about how he plans to portray a journey of conflicts between various races and the growth that it brings, as well as how he’ll use a fresh approach to the genre comparable to the limited-time schedule in Persona games. He also previously discussed his approach to this new fantasy world.
Atlus’ Shinijiro Takada stated that fans would see more content related to Shin Megami Tensei’s 30th anniversary the following year in another recent Famitsu clip. The Shin Megami Tensei show celebrated its 30th anniversary in October 2022 “thanks to the support and contribution of many people,” he stated.
