Yesterday, there was a little wildfire dubbed as Hitching Post Fire in Yellowstone National Park. It was detected some 5.5 miles south of the Northeast Entrance Road to the park and 0.5 miles east of Lamar River Trail located at Lamar Valley. The fire is likely to have been caused by a lightning on 23rd July, is now approximately half an acre with soldering in steep terrain. The crew in charge works to confine the fire while no closures or fire restrictions have been imposed yet by them.
Nevertheless, the park’s fire danger level has increased too high. Please be informed that campfires can only be lit within established fire rings and should be properly drowned before unattended. The reason justified is due to hydrothermal explosion. If ground water enters into contact with hot volcanic materials in the underground, it becomes extremely hot and changes into steam.
