Tina Datta, a TV actress, has returned to Bigg Boss 16, a day after being ousted from the Salman Khan-hosted reality programme. Tina’s reappearance comes as no surprise to Bigg Boss watchers, who thought she’d be put to a hidden chamber.
In a forthcoming episode, Shalin Bhanot will be offered the option of giving up the remaining prize money of Rs 25 lakh in order to save Tina. This time, Shalin chooses to save Tina and tells her housemates, “To hell with it. I have no problem with jo bhi jeetega, 25 lakh main dunga (I would award Rs 25 lakh to whoever wins the programme).”
Tina, on the other hand, appears to be furious with Shalin. “I’m back,” she says as she walks inside the house. He didn’t hit the bell that day since he knew I was leaving. What made him press it today? You were taking your sweet time deciding whether to hit the buzzer. If I were in your shoes, Shalin Bhanot, I would have pressed it on three. If apne dost ke nahi ho sakte… tum kisi ke nahi ho sakte.”
“You didn’t want to go?” Shalin asks Tina.” “No, I didn’t want to go,” she says. You were dancing there after I was kicked out. Why are you being so phoney? I needed a reality check, which I now have.”
Tina was evicted because Shalin Bhanot opted to preserve Rs 25 lakh in prize money due to Tina and Sumbul’s expulsion. Salman Khan has urged Shalin to decide whether to save Sumbul and Tina from eviction by forfeiting the remaining 25 lakh from their reward money or to let the house vote on removal.
Shalin explained his choice, saying that everyone on the programme had worked hard and that he did not want to give up the prize money. “Kisi ki mehnat barbaad nahi jaane chahiye,” he continued, “someone’s efforts must not go in vain.”
