Jannik Sinner fought against Daniil Medvedev and defeated him in the finals of the AUS Open in Melbourne, on Sunday, confirming the “champion” of the Grand Slam.
Sinner vs Medvedev: The head-to-head AUS Open Final
On Sunday, in Melbourne, in the Australian Open final, Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev fought against each other.
Daniil’s control lasted until, 6-3, 5-1, and thereafter it was all Sinner. The 22-year-old young Italian player, managed to win over the Russian player Medvedev, 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 in the AUS Open men’s final.

At the Rod Laver Arena, for the first 85 minutes, there was a blow of Sinner’s nervousness that could be felt, as he was playing his first Grand Slam Final. Initially, it was Medvedev’s dominance over the young player but eventually, the master was Sinner. Later, it was his dominance over Daniil that was felt.
Thereafter winning the match, Sinner could not contain his disbelief and happiness and as a result, he fell to the ground on his back and absorbed the moment.
It was a heartbreak for Medvedev on the other hand.

The professional tennis player of Italy, Jannik Sinner has been ranked No. 4 on the ATP (Associates of Tennis Professionals) Ranking. As a result of this rank, he is now the highest-ranked male Italian player.

Sinner earned around 3,150,000 AUD as prize money. In addition to that Jannik earned his first major title of the “Grand Slam Champion,” at the Australian Open.

During an interview after clinching his Grand Slam Title, Jannik expressed what he felt while playing for the finals.
The young player expressed that he is still left to “process it.” After defeating Djokovic in the semis and overcoming Medvedev in the finals, he still can’t believe winning the 2024 AUS Open. Moreover, he stated that he considers them “tough players to beat.”
