Anupam Mittal, the creator of the matrimony website Shaadi.com, has lately made social media headlines for his comments on Shark Tank India. Mr Mittal, who appears as a’shark’ in season 2 of the show, captured fans’ hearts when he provided a job to an entrepreneur seeking financing for a failing footwear firm. The’shark’ is already receiving praise for his sarcastic response to an Instagram user.
Mr Mittal recently released a clip from an episode of the show in which the shoe company ‘Flatheads’ was featured. A user commented on his post, saying, “Ashneer Grover ji nahi hai isliye maja nahi aara hai (Ashneer Grover isn’t there, therefore it’s not fun).”
Anupam Mittal responded with a witty retort, “Go watch Bigg Boss.”
Shark Tank is a reality programme in which entrepreneurs compete for financing from successful businesses. The show is an Indian adaptation of the popular US show Shark Tank, which is presently in its 14th season.

In the show’s first season, BharatPe founder Ashneer Grover became a fan favourite for his no-nonsense approach and catchy one-liners. Mr Grover is not in the second episode, and numerous fans have complained on social media that the performance has turned “dull” in his absence.
