The Prime Minister emphasized that “national welfare and public welfare have been the basic elements of Shivaji Maharaj’s governance.” He mentioned that the first capital of Swarajya had a magnificent ceremony planned in the courtyard of Raigarh Fort. The day is fondly remembered as a festival throughout Maharashtra. The Maharashtra government was commended for the preparation and execution by the Prime Minister. He also announced that such events will be hosted there all year long.
According to the Prime Minister, the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which took place 350 years ago, encompassed the spirit of Swarajya and nationalism. He remarked that maintaining India’s unity and integrity was always of utmost significance to Shivaji Maharaj. The concept of Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat reflects the ideas of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The Prime Minister noted that one can envision the confidence levels of the nation. At the time of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in acknowledging the obligation of leaders to maintain the citizens’ motivation and confidence. He said that because of hundreds of years of slavery, where invasions and exploitation by invaders were combined with poverty to weaken the nation, citizens’ confidence was at an all-time low. He emphasized that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj not only resisted the invaders, but also instilled in the populace the notion that self-governance is a possible when he remarked; “An attempt was made to break the morale of the people by attacking our cultural centers.” By abolishing the idea of slavery, Shivaji Maharaj inspired people to establish their country, according to Shri Modi. The PM Modi emphasized that there have been numerous leaders throughout history. They were renowned for their military domination but lacked administrative prowess. In a similar vein, some leaders who were renowned for their superb governance also lacked military leadership.
However, The Prime Minister noted that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had a great personality; because he founded both “Swaraj” and “Suraj.” He emphasized that, while Shivaji Maharaj shown his military prowess by capturing forts and vanquishing adversaries at an early age; he also demonstrated strong governance as a monarch by putting administrative reforms into place.
The PM Modi went on to say that while protecting his kingdom and culture against invaders; he also put out a comprehensive vision for building the country. The Prime Minister emphasized the public welfare nature of administration that ensured that people live with self-respect. He stated that “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is completely different from other heroes of history because of his vision”.
The Prime Minister further stated Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also conveyed a stern message. To all those who sought to harm Swaraj, religion, culture, and legacy. It increased public confidence and encouraged the spirit of independence. He continued by saying that it increased respect for the country. He emphasized that his style of governance and his programs are still relevant today. It is whether the topic is farmer welfare, women’s empowerment, or making government more approachable to the average person.
The Prime Minister said that certain facets of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s personality still have an influence on us now. He said that realizing India’s maritime potential, growing the Navy, and his management abilities still serve as examples for people today. He also spoke of the forts he constructed that are still standing tall in the middle of the ocean; despite being heavily battered by high tides and waves. The Prime Minister also talked about how he increased the size of the kingdom. How he constructed forts everywhere from mountaintops to seashores. The Prime Minister stated at the time that the experts were in awe of his water management procedures. By replacing the Indian Navy’s flag which had the appearance of British control. With Shivaji Maharaj’s symbol, the Prime Minister shed light on the inspiration received from Shivaji Maharaj. He emphasized that India emancipated the Navy from all traces of slavery last year. Shri Modi continued, “Now, this flag represents the pride of the new India in the skies and the oceans.”
“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s courage, philosophy, and sense of justice have inspired countless generations. Even now, his audacious manner of action, strategic acumen, and orderly political system serve as an example for us, the Prime Minister said. The Prime Minister expressed delight at the conclusion of the speech that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s policies are still being discussed in various nations. It where research is being done on them. Shri Modi further remarked that a month had passed since Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue was placed in Mauritius. “It is an amazing occasion because Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was crowned 350 years ago in the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal. The values he established are still guiding us forward years later.” The Prime Minister stressed, reiterating that Amrit Kaal’s 25-year journey must be completed in accordance with these beliefs. “This path will be one of swaraj, good governance, and self-reliance as we work to create the India of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s dreams. The journey of a developed India will be this,” the Prime Minister said.
