Baroness Michelle Mone British business women leave of absence at the centre of controversy over PPE contracts from the House of Lords immediately.
The allegations against Baroness Michelle Mone reported that Mone and her children had secretly received £29 million of profits from an offshore trust from government PPE contracts, which she had lobbied for during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Around this, all controversy revolves her leafing the House of Lords to clear her name as she faces many allegations over links to firms that won PPE contracts in the COVID-19 pandemic.
All this controversy starts on October 2020 when it was revealed that PPE Medpro, a company led by Anthony Page, a business associate of Mone and her husband Doug Barrowman, had been awarded a contract for £122 million to supply personal protective equipment (PPE) to the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic. It later emerged that a second contract for £80 million was awarded to Medpro even earlier when the company was just 4 weeks old.
In November 2021 the Freedom of Information revealed that Baroness Mone personally recommended the government about Medpro through her political connection to bypass a normal competitive tender process thus after this the company was awarded £200 million in government contracts.
From this till now in December 2022 still, allegations are put against Baroness Mone by various firms about this PPE scandal Also it states that all money from the PPE scandal is received in her children’s account through a trust fund.
