Piers Morgan’s Twitter account appears to have been deleted following claims that it had been hacked.
On Tuesday morning, the former Good Morning Britain broadcaster, 57, who has 8.3 million followers on the social networking platform, had no profile photo, header image, or posts.
According to sources, his account published tweets including bogus information, racist insults, and nasty words intended towards the late Queen and artist Ed Sheeran during the course of the night.
The presenter, who just left GMB to anchor TalkTV’s Uncensored show, has not publicly addressed the purported breach.
He is a frequent user of the site, where he expresses his thoughts on anything from Cristiano Ronaldo’s place among the greatest footballers of all time to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their Netflix series.
The Metropolitan Police announced earlier this month that no further action will be taken against a man accused of making online death threats against Morgan and his family.
On Twitter, Morgan stated there is a “huge problem with how big tech conducts its safety protocols”.
It comes after Education Secretary Gillian Keegan’s account seemed to be hacked on Christmas Day.
Her account responded to several tweets with links to websites promoting cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
Morgan and Twitter representatives have been approached for comment.
