Besharam bigots:-Prakash Raj has backed Deepu and addressed the issue in the Pathaan song Besharam Rang.
Here’s what he had to say :
Actor Prakash Raj has defended Deepika Padukone and discussed the current controversy about her clothes in the song Besharam Rang from the forthcoming film Pathaan. He also addressed protesters in Indore who were burning effigies of superstar Shah Rukh Khan. In the film Besharam Rang, Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone romance in Spain.
On Twitter on Thursday, Prakash posted a news report and said, “BIGOTS in #Besharam… So it’s alright for Saffron-clad guys to garland rapists, deliver hate speeches, bribe MLAs, and a Saffron-clad swamiji to rape minors, but not a DRESS in a film?? #justasking (sic).”
On Wednesday, activists from a group protested the Pathaan and Besharam Rang song in Indore, setting fire to effigies of Deepika and Shah Rukh. According to PTI, the Veer Shivaji Group has requested that the film be banned, claiming that the song’s content has hurt the Hindu community.
Previously, Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra criticised Deepika’s wardrobe in the song, as well as the colour of her and Shah Rukh’s attire. In an interview with the media, the minister stated, “At first impression, the costumes in the song are unpleasant. It is obviously evident that the song of the film Pathaan has been shot with a nasty attitude. This does not sit well with me, and I will inform the film’s director and producers of my concerns.”
He’d continued, “Deepika Padukone previously supported the Tukde Tukde Gang at JNU, which is why her attitude was exposed to everyone. And it is for this reason that I feel the name of this song, Besharam Rang, is equally offensive in and of itself, as are the colours of the song, the lyrics, and the title of the film.
It might be better. If it is not done, then we shall review whether its transmission should be authorised in Madhya Pradesh. Let’s see how far everyone who has been questioned has progressed. If it is not completed, we will evaluate it.”
Vishal-Sheykhar composed the song, Besharam Rang, while Kumaar wrote the lyrics. The upbeat song highlights Shah Rukh and Deepika’s smouldering chemistry. Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, is set to open in theatres on January 25, 2023.
