India has criticized statements by Germany on Arvind Kejriwal’s detention in the Delhi liquor policy case. Also noting that the country expects India to adhere to “fundamental democratic principles” to conduct a fair trial.
In response to Germany’s comments over Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in the case, India called a German envoy today. The Enforcement Directorate accused the Aam Aadmi Party head of being the “main conspirator” of the now-defunct policy. It established his administration to obtain bribes from retailers and wholesalers allegedly. The German Foreign Ministry questioned Berlin’s stance on the detention of Delhi’s CM before the Lok Sabha elections. The spokeswoman stated that Germany took notice of the matter in response to the query.
