On Thursday, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inspected the important Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), a modern industrial city. Moreover, this city, known as Dholera SIR, is a showcase project of the state government and will be featured prominently at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS).
Additionally, the state government shared positive news. They reported that they have completed 95% of the tasks in Phase 1 of Dholera SIR. This city is expected to attract investments from around the world as a result. It has advanced infrastructure and is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
While visiting, the Chief Minister met with top officials. They planned a schedule to ensure the timely completion of Dholera SIR’s projects. Simultaneously, Phase 1 covers an area of 22.54 square kilometers.
Dholera SIR spans 920 square kilometers, including 22 villages from the Dholera taluka in the Ahmedabad district. Therefore, the infrastructure now includes notable additions. These additions comprise a 72-kilometer road network and plans for a substantial 150 million liters per day water supply.
Additionally, the government highlighted that Dholera SIR is versatile and appealing to various sectors. As a result, various companies in defense, aerospace, engineering, automotive, pharmaceutical, agro-food processing, renewable energy, IT, and electronics industries find it an excellent location to begin their operations. This is because of the convenient plug-and-play facilities available.
Gujarat CM Checks Ongoing Progress in Dholera SIR Infrastructure
On Thursday, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) to check on ongoing infrastructure projects. Furthermore, this visit was confirmed by a statement from the organization.
After touring the Phase-1 activation area, CM Patel participated in a high-level discussion. The purpose was to evaluate the overall development of the project.
Furthermore, the release highlights that experts consider the infrastructure and extensive land in Dholera SIR excellent. This is particularly for units in sectors such as IT, Agro-food processing, Defense and aerospace, Engineering, and Automotive and ancillaries. They explicitly shared these details during the conference.
Additionally, during the discussion, they shared information with CM Patel about Dholera’s suitability for emerging industries. These include semiconductors, displays, and green hydrogen.
Moreover, sources communicating with Patel shared their thoughts. They expressed that the Dholera Industrial Smart City is expected to play a vital role. This role involves promoting sustainable growth in the infrastructure sectors by utilizing next-generation technology.
Dholera SIR Set to launch its plug-and-play Infrastructure
A key attraction in the expansive Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) is a 6.5-kilometer canal. Furthermore, they designed the canal as a showcase feature. It provides visitors with a joyful and relaxing environment on both sides, offering recreational facilities, well-maintained gardens, and gazebo tents.
Moreover, the canal has a crucial role as the central hub of Dholera SIR. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this significant project in 2013 when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
It addresses a crucial problem in this low-lying industrial area. They use fears of flooding from heavy rains to discourage potential investors. Despite the attractive incentives and the promise of profitable memorandums of understanding (MOUs), these concerns have deterred many investors.
Benefits of Investing in Dholera SIR
Dholera, among India’s leading smart cities, is a growing town near Ahmedabad. Moreover, it’s twice the size of Delhi Metro City. This makes it a highly valued option for real estate investments.
Additionally, they expect the town to thrive in various industries such as biotechnology, IT, steel, pharmacy, and BPO. Positioned 100 miles southwest of Ahmedabad, Dholera SIR is a well-planned city. It is known for its international design and promising real estate opportunities. Investments in Dholera City are on the rise. The city aims to become a major global center for economic activity and industrial excellence.
Furthermore, this project provides modern facilities for all age groups and generates many job opportunities. Dholera City is distinctive as one of Gujarat’s first Greenfield industrial areas. Consequently, here are some key benefits of investing in Dholera SIR.
Connectivity
Close to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, Dholera SIR is approximately 100 miles away from Ahmedabad. Moreover, the area benefits from well-established connections through roads and railroads. Therefore, this ensures an easy and affordable route to Dholera city.
Additionally, the planned Dholera Metro Project will offer excellent and reliable transit options, expected to significantly improve connectivity. Moreover, Dholera International Airport is a new international airport under construction. It is a Greenfield airport designed to serve the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) in Gujarat, India. The construction is taking place near Navagam in the Dholera taluka of Ahmedabad district.
Ease of Governance and Business
ABCD Building serves as the Administration and Business Center for Dholera SIR. Additionally, it functions as the central administrative office for Dholera Smart City.
Furthermore, all legal works and permissions will be processed through a single window within this building. Therefore, ABCD Building aims to provide a streamlined process with single-window clearance.
Dholera Industrial City has set up a single-window system to make interactions between the government and businesses easier. Additionally, this effort aims to cut down the number of steps and approvals needed for different business tasks. As a result, businesses can navigate through processes more efficiently, saving time and resources.
Sustainability
Water and Wastewater System: In our water and wastewater system, we aim to have no waste left. Additionally, we treat all the wastewater to high standards, making it suitable for non-drinking and industrial use. To save water, we use smart metering and SCA.
Solid Waste Management: We make sure to collect all the solid waste. Moreover, the waste that can break down is recycled and turned into compost. We even use it to make energy.
Stormwater Management and Rainwater Harvesting: We have systems to catch and use rainwater and stormwater. Furthermore, rainwater harvesting uses an open earthen canal. This helps recharge the water source and uses it again for plants.
Power Management: We always have electricity available. Additionally, we use smart technology to minimize power loss. We also follow rules to create energy from renewable sources.
Experience Life, Work, and Play
Dholera Industrial City aims to meet the diverse needs of businesses and industries. Additionally, it will create jobs and opportunities. Moreover, the social infrastructure ensures that employees and their families can live nearby.
Furthermore, there’s a hierarchy of open green spaces, including neighborhood parks, community parks, and a linear park within walking distance. These spaces, along with recreation and sports zones, provide areas for playing and leisure. Therefore, this establishes a foundation for a Live-Work-Play community. Additionally, special zones have been designated for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) housing.
