ICC:- India is again back on track to secure a place in the semifinals.We are finally here after 44 matches and 5 weeks.
India has cruised itself throughout as the most dominant team in the history of tournament.
India,South Africa, Australia and New Zealand would be playing the semifinal match. Against the Netherlands which got eliminated already,India has a golden chance to test bench strength.
Team India needs to win 2 more matches in order to secure the prestigious ICC World Cup 2023
Netherlands left with no hope after their unexpected results in the matches they played against Bangladesh and South Africa. However,they really performed well in few individual matches.
Bas de Leede’s 14 wickets from 8 games, Logan Van Beek’s 12 and Paul Van Meekeren with 11 they have been the most prolific scorers.
Netherlands team captain Scott Edwards and Sybrand Engelbrecht pose a serious threat to India’s win.
But,they can’t escape the rampaging bowling attack of the Indian cricketers.
India had bowled out the oppositions for 129,55 and 83 in previous 3 games.
Still it’s expected that Netherlands will dig deeper and fight with every last ounce of will and energy for a place in the Champions Trophy.
India and Netherlands have played each other twice for worldcups before.
Surprisingly,in both games team India faced few jitters.In 2003 batting, India scored just 204 and Bas Leede’s father Tim had led the way with 4/35.Had if Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble not secured 4 wicket hauls,India couldn’t have reached the finals.However we endured a solid blow.8 years hence,we won 5 wickets due to all-rounder Yuvraj Singh with 2/43 and 51 not out.
Will we get to see another close contest in the Bengaluru stadium?
