In more bad news, a plane exploded in mid-air over the Sao Paulo state, and all the 62 passengers on board were killed.
The twin-engine turboprop was traveling from Cascavel in the southern state of Paraná to Guarulhos airport in São Paulo city when it crash-landed on Friday in the town of Vinhedo, local Voepass airline said.

While some sources indicated that there were 62 passengers on board the ATR 72-500, Voepass clarified on Saturday, that out of sixty-two, fifty-eight were passengers while four were crew members. There were no survivors.

The authorities stated that the body of the aircraft had been recovered as well as flight recorders. ATR, the French-Italian planemaker, said it would cooperate in the investigation.

Emergency groups throughout the night in the early hours of Saturday were involved in lifting the bodies of the dead passengers and crew who were burnt to death in a Voepass airline flight crash just outside Vinhedo city.
